However, working on this unique, factory-turbocharged application from Chevy has brought to light the importance of the type of testing we do for our intake projects. We've gone through many configurations, spent countless design hours and logged hundreds of miles of road testing. This isn't overkill at Mishimoto, we deem it a necessity.

    The amount of time that passed by was no mistake. We spared no R&D expense with this kit.     We Get Around - Catch Can R&D, Part 6: Cadillac Field Trip

    Though the winter continues to perpetuate chilly weather and monotonous gloom here on the east coast, the future is looking bright for our Mishimoto 2013+ Cadillac ATS catch can kit. After a nice visit to the local Porsche dealership (yes, you read that correctly), armed with some anomalous 50◦ January sunshine, several delicious sandwiches, and our final ATS prototype catch can kit, we've determined that our fitment is just about spot on.

    For those of you just catching up with us now (I crack myself up), this ATS kit is largely the same as our Camaro 2.0T catch can kit, which is now on pre-sale"don't worry, the ATS pre-sale is not far behind!

    However, to properly fit the Caddy, we needed to design a bespoke set of ATS-specific brackets and hoses.

It is my pleasure to let you know that all our Camaro exhaust prototypes have been completed. We've been busy testing and re-testing for fitment, sound, durability, and performance - and fun, of course. Our on-road testing process usually begins a little something like this:

    Rob, the project manager: "Hey Gardiner, I need you to take the SS home tonight to put some miles on the pro system."

    The team developing this intake for our 2016 Chevy Camaro 2.0T or what I call "The TurboChevy" has been buzzing with activity. In the last post, we discussed the stock intake and analyzed each component to get a good understanding of its design. There were several ways our engineers could have created an intake for this system, and we tried and tested a few of those designs, which yielded some interesting results.

    As the summer drags unremittingly further into the humid, heavy annals of August, it continues to push our air conditioners to the very cusp of their abilities, and I can't help but to dream of cooler weather.     Last time, in the first Camaro 2.0T catch can R&D post, we learned a little bit about blow-by, the CCV system, and how a catch can serves to prolong the life of your Camaro. If you need a refresher, we have a technical article all about why blow-by is terrible for your engine. We left off with Steve setting up his testing rig, but I want to go into a bit more detail on what exactly we wanted to test.

    As we discovered in the first post, the OEM system appears to have three different CCV valves. On further investigation, we found that these three valves comprise two separate systems. One system features two CCV valves on the valve cover that connect at a T-joint and run to the intake.

    As I sit here, isolated from the blistering humidity of a mid-Atlantic summer within the walls of our New Castle, DE office, I can't help but to appreciate the hell out of our A/C and the cooling - *ahem*, heat rejection (gotta keep the engineers happy) - that it provides. Just this past week, certain guests and goings-on have necessitated my spending quite a bit of time outside in the sweltering heat, and this drastic variance in climate really does have an effect on my ability to work well - just don't tell my supervisor!
